Advisor to BoardHerb Phillipps Jr. (MBA, CMA) holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance and accounting from Sir George Williams University and an MBA in finance from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.A certified Management Accountant with over 35 years experience in banking, mutual funds management, investment, finance and auditing, Mr. Phillipps has worked both in Canada and the United States with Canada's largest bank. He has extensive experience developing and implementing business strategies that require transformational changes through the implementation of integrating computer systems in order to deliver superior service solutions to satisfy customers' needs. Mr. Phillipps is Founder and CEO of HIPNET Inc and a consultant to the AIC Group in Canada. He chairs the Executive Council that manages transformational projects within NCB Jamaica Limited. He is also the chief driver of ILOD (Institute of Leadership and Organizational Development) for NCB group of companies. Mr. Phillipps enjoyed an illustrious career lasting over 17 years with Canada's largest financial institution, Royal Bank of Canada, where he held a number of executive positions, utilizing his innovative and transformational skills. Subsequently, he focused on the mutual fund industry. There, he held the positions of Chief Information Officer and President of a newly formed Service Provider, concentrating on integrating and streamlining repetitive processes and improving real-time access to marketing information, which would identify the customers' needs.A "pragmatic visionary" who believes in dreams (but, more importantly, living the dream), Mr. Phillipps founded a consulting company HIPNET Inc. to coach companies in aligning their business and technology strategies. He brings his passion and belief that the only sustainable competitive advantage in the new millennium will be to continually delight customers by satisfying their ever changing needs."The database is the most valuable application within the entire architecture because it houses your crown jewels: the information history about your client, from the beginning of the relationship." By deploying the appropriate processes and technology, organisations will be able to free up the crown jewels and seamlessly allow internal users, particularly in Client Service and Marketing, to analyse the data, transforming it into information and eventually to knowledge. The call centre, or the Intelligent Customer Response Centre, will be the hub of integration for people, processes and technology. In 2000, Herb was instrumental in establishing a customer centric Call centre for a bank in Bombay India, equipped with the latest in CRM tools. Because of this initiative, the bank increased its business and was elevated from the 9th largest bank to 2nd in only nine months. Today that customer service centre has grown to over 5,000 agents and serves the entire globe.Most recently, Herb is instrumental in establishing National Commercial Bank of Jamaica as the largest and most technologically advanced bank in that Caribbean island. Herb serves on the Board of Directors of NCBJ as Director of Transformation and coached the implementation of many innovative banking products that are not found any where else in the world. These products utilized a high degree of technology to eliminate inefficiencies while ensuring that the customers’ daily funds flows will be utilized to yield the highest return while securing working capital needs as well as procuring future receivables today to fund capital expenditures. HIPNET’s major client is Michael lee-Chin, Chairman of AIC Ltd. and NCBJ.A stanch believer in education, Herb has a solid academic grounding in business, including an MBA from Concordia University in Montreal, and is a Professional Accountant with the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario. In addition Herb is most active in the community and is able to balance personal growth, professional career, family, social and spiritual interests. His volunteer activities include counseling in the Correctional Institute, an executive board member of the Canadian Council to promote Equality & Respect, Past Director of Management Decision Laboratory within the MBA programme at NYU and is Past President of the oldest and one of the most prestigious business luncheon clubs in Canada, The Canadian Club of Toronto. |
