President

Jim Despathy brings 35 years of business development and management experience to the Koolu team. As president of The Cushing Group, an international consulting and training company, Jim developed and managed an organization of consulting engineers that delivered customized object oriented software solutions and training to customers around the world. Under Jim's management and direction The Cushing Group grew from a four person training company to a multi-million dollar operation with offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Nashua, NH. The Cushing Group’s customers included Wells Fargo Bank, DirecTV, Fidelity Management Group, Xerox Corporation, NASA, NTT (Tokyo), ABM/AMRO (Amsterdam), Kaiser Permanente, CitiGroup and Prudential Resource Management. In 1998, Jim managed the sale and transfer of the Cushing Group to Ciber Corporation (CBR) in Denver.

Jon "maddog" Hall - CTO and Ambassador

Jon "maddog" Hall is CTO and ambassador to the world for Koolu. Mr. Hall is a well known elder statesman of the programming community, and a leader of the open source movement. At the UK Linux and Open Source Awards 2006, Mr. Hall was honoured with a Lifetime Recognition Award for his services to the open source community.Mr. Hall holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1977) and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University (1973). Over his 35 year career, Mr. Hall has worked for such companies as Western Electric Corporation, Aetna Life and Casualty, Bell Laboratories, Digital Equipment Corporation, VA Linux Systems and SGI.

VP Europe

Mr. Compston is a determined and result oriented business professional. He has over 26 years of experience in Sales and Business Development in the Information Technology and Telecommunication industry in Europe. 

Mr. Compston has worked at Sun Microsystems for over last 4 years having a major impact in their botton line increasing sales by over 650%. Bringing in $20m of new business. He was also the top senior sales executive at Hewlett-Packard where for over 6 years increased their visibility and sales in the Telecoms and software divisions by over $20m - with extensive European experience and success. Ian has achieved formidable sales success in Hewlett-Packard, achieving No.1 sales in UK for 2 years running, Number 1 sales person in Europe for sales to tier 1 companies such as Vodafone, Cable and Wireless, BT, Virgin Media and T-Mobile.

Ian's engineering degree is augmented with an MBA and DMS business qualifications from Edinburgh University. Ian will drive the European business for Koolu as Vice President for Europe. 

Product/Marketing Manager - Sales

Mr. Gore has over 33 years experience as an executive in a variety of International Sales and Management roles focusing in the Telco and Communications industry.While at AT&T in global sales, George worked with some of the most prestigious Global 200 level customers including Mobil Oil, Texaco, JP Morgan Bank, Merrill Lynch, Royal Bank, CIBC and Pfizer. As a certified Project Manager (PMI), Mr. Gore had the pleasure of leading some incredible International Network Management projects while at AT&T including the 1994 Olympics.

Technical Director

Mr. Code has an Undergraduate Computer Engineering Degree from the University of Waterloo. His experience spans the globe. He worked with Seiko-Epson in Japan (printer drivers and country specific driver localization) and in the Princeton office of the Wall Street firm Morgan Stanley (distributed systems in fixed income derivatives group). He also spent time in academic institutions in Beaverton, Oregon, and Bordeaux, France.

Marva has an outstanding track record managing vision in and directing system implementations. She has managed, consulted and coach medium and large size corporations and her expertise is productivity. Marva with a degree in teaching and in computer sciences has more than 25 years experience as a manager, business owner and entrepreneur and a bottom line results-oriented professional.

Advisor to Board

Herb Phillipps Jr. (MBA, CMA) holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance and accounting from Sir George Williams University and an MBA in finance from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.A certified Management Accountant with over 35 years experience in banking, mutual funds management, investment, finance and auditing, Mr. Phillipps has worked both in Canada and the United States with Canada's largest bank. He has extensive experience developing and implementing business strategies that require transformational changes through the implementation of integrating computer systems in order to deliver superior service solutions to satisfy customers' needs.

Legal Strategist and Director

Mr. Howard brings an incredibly diverse and deep understanding of technology and communications from a legal perspective. He graduated from Queens College with a B.A. 1974, and from Fordham University Law School, J.D. 1977. He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar Association and a member of the National Bar Association. Mr. Howard is also a member of the Delaware Valley Computer Lawyers Group.
